The second event of the WCT calendar hits the water this week at one of the longest running Professional Surfing Competitions in the world. The Bells Beach Pro has been running since 1973 and all the surfers on tour want to lift that iconic trophy! Bells is a point break which sits just off the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, about an hour to the west of Melbourne.
A big, walley point break, this wave demands precision and the ability to lay that surfboard on rail and lean into some big open face carves. If you're joining in on our Fantasy Surfer league then based on past results here you're looking at those surfers with a more traditional style, guys like Mick Fanning & Kelly Slater have always done well here, as well as guys like Frederico Morais who absolutely tore it up out here last year during his first season on tour.
This is Mick Fanning's last WCT event before he retires so he's got nothing to lose and will be wanting to finish his incredible career on a high!On the ladies side Tyler Wright & Steph Gilmore are always threats here, however those with long, flowing style like Sally Fitzgibbons love the space to showcase their skills.
Remember if you want to join our Fantasy Surfer league and be in with a chance to win some awesome prizes then it's FREE to join, just click here and submit your team!
You can keep track of all the action from Bells Beach by heading over to Facebook and watch live via the WSL page, you can tune in to www.worldsurfleague.com to watch all the action on the Heat Analyser and make sure to keep an eye on our own Facebook page for updates as we go!
BGSS Top Pick - Frederico Morais really impressed here last season and if it wasn't Fanning's last event we'd be backing him - that being said we'll be rooting for Mick to have the perfect end to his incredible career. On the ladies side Tyler Wright will be the one to watch, always a threat and loves this wave.
REIGNING CHAMPS - Jordy Smith and Courtney Conlogue
