At Big Green Adventures, our coaches spend their days in and around the water, from teaching surf lessons to leading stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking sessions along the coast. Safety is always at the heart of what we do, and being able to communicate with our team while we’re out on the water is an important part of keeping our sessions running safely and smoothly.

We always use Aquapac VHF cases for our coach radios, and we’re super stoked to be testing their new VHF cases as part of our everyday coaching kit.
Keeping our radios protected — without losing access
For our coaches, a VHF radio can be an essential piece of communication equipment when we’re out on the water. The challenge is making sure the radio is protected from water, spray and splashes while still being easily accessible when it’s needed.
This is where the Aquapac VHF radio case really comes into its own. The case is designed to keep the radio dry, whilst allowing our coaches to use the full functionality of the radio and operate its buttons without having to remove it from the case. This is a huge benefit in a watersports environment. If a coach needs to communicate with another team member, they can simply use the radio through the case rather than having to stop, open the case and expose the radio to the elements.

For us, that combination of waterproof protection and easy access is the real selling point.
Another feature we really like is the way the cases can be carried. They come with straps, allowing our coaches to attach the radio securely to themselves in a range of positions while they’re working. They also fit neatly into our buoyancy aids. For paddle sports, this means the radio can be kept close and accessible without getting in the way. That’s particularly useful for our instructors, who need their hands free to focus on their groups and their surroundings.

Put to the test in real watersports conditions
We’ll be putting the Aquapac VHF radio cases through their paces across all of our water activities; surfing, SUP, kayaking, coasteering.
For a watersports school, good equipment needs to be practical as well as waterproof. The Aquapac VHF radio cases give our coaches the reassurance that their radios are protected from the water, while still allowing them to communicate quickly and easily.
We’re looking forward to continuing to test them out on the water and seeing how they perform as part of our day-to-day coaching kit.
